The Bharatiya Janata Party Wednesday condemned Congress president Rahul Gandhi for blaming the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh for death of several persons in anti-Sterlite protests at Thoothukudi in Tamilnadu, and accusing him of “milking” the sensitive situation for political gains.

“Look at Rahul Gandhi’s alertness. He is milking a situation that is tense, milking a situation that is sad, in which 11 people have lost their lives. Mr Rahul Gandhi is trying to drive some political mileage out of it,” BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra. “He names the RSS as the perpetrator that has caused of the deaths of 11 people. Mr Rahul Gandhi, are you aware of the fact that in a federal structure, law and order is a state subject?”

He also offered to gift him a Class 6 civics book to “improve his general knowledge”.

“You have erred so many times that today with a heavy heart I say to the president of the once largest party of this country: Rahulji we will gift you Class 6 Civics book so that you can learn the basics of democracy, Constitution, federal structure,” Patra said.
