BJP, SHIV SENA reach seat sharing agreement
Bhartiya Janta Party and Shiv Sena have reached an agreement for fighting the ensuing general elections and assembly polls in Maharashtra together.
BJP president Amit Shah met Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray in Mumbai and later senior leaders from both the parties addressed a joint press conference declaring the tie up. According to the agreement reached, in Lok Sabha, BJP will fight 25 seats while Shiv Sena will get 23 seats. While in assembly elections, both the parties, after accommodating other allies, will fight equal number of seats..
BJP president Amit Shah congratulated the leaders. He reiterated that Shiv Sena has been BJP’s most trusted and long time ally. He also said that all the issues which arose between the two parties have been resolved.
