British Parliament begins a 3-day debate on Brexit legislation

British Parliament has begun a three-day of debate on the Brexit legislation. Speaking in the House of Commons, Prime Minister Boris Johnson said the government will abandon its Brexit bill if MPs vote down its three-day timetable to get it through Parliament.

He told MPs if the programme was rejected and the EU confirmed a delay to the 31 October exit, he would instead push for a general election.

The Withdrawal Agreement Bill was published last night and MPs are now debating it in the Commons. They will vote on the proposed timetable tonight.
