Bus conductor gets bail after two months in jail
Gurugram,
After staying in jail for two months on the charge of murdering 7-year-old Pradyuman Thakur, Ryan International School conductor Ashok Kumar was granted bail by a local court today.
The court, which reserved its judgement yesterday, granted him bail and told him to sign a bond for Rs 50,000. He had been arrested by the Gurugram police within hours of Pradyuman’s murder.
The subsequent two-month-long investigation conducted by the CBI had established that there was no evidence so far to prove that he was the murderer.
However, granting of bail did not rule out his involvement in the crime. The court ordered him to present himself for questioning whenever the investigating agency wanted him to.
“We have not and will not give a clean chit to anybody till the investigation is completed. Though we do not say he is the murderer, he surely has many answers and will be questioned on other lines now,” said a CBI official.
“Granting of bail proves that my husband has nothing to do with the murder. He was just at the wrong place at the wrong time. He was tortured and framed. I want action against those who made us suffer,” said Ashok’s wife Mamta.
