‘Clean chit’ to Karnal organisations

The Karnal Municipal Corporation today felicitated the clean organisations, including hotels, hospitals, schools, market associations, and resident welfare associations under the clean Karnal campaign for Swachh Survekshan, 2018.
The KMC had organised a cleanliness competition till December 15 among these establishments in various categories with an aim to improve its performance in the Swachh Survekshan, 2018.
Renu Bala Gupta, Mayor, and Priyanka Soni, Commissioner, KMC, gave away the awards to the representatives of these organisations.
They urged the residents to make efforts in maintaining cleanliness in the city, so that Karnal could improve its position in the Swachh Survekshan, 2018.
The Mayor said during the Swachh Survekshan, 2017, Karnal had secured 65th rank, while it ranked 123rd in 2014. It had also received a special award for being the cleanest city in North India under the category of 2 lakh to 10 lakh population.
The Commissioner said Hotel Noor Mahal remained at the top position under the clean hotel category, followed by Hotel Prem Plaza and Hotel Vivan.
Amritdhara hospital secured the first position under the clean hospital category, while Cygnus hospital remained at the second position and Shri Hari hospital at the third position.
