Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Saturday deputed Forests Minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot, Sports Minister Rana Gurmeet Singh Sodhi and PWD Minister Vijay inder Singla to attend the Bhog ceremony of former Finance Minister, Surinder Singla, at New Delhi on July 2 on behalf of the state government. Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of the Chief Minister’s office said that Captain Amarinder Singh had deputed the ministers, as he himself was unable to attend the ceremony in view of the urgent cabinet meeting convened by him on Monday. It may be recalled that Surinder Singla passed away at New Delhi on June 28 after a prolonged illness. On the directives of Chief Minister, the Punjab
Government had declared a holiday on Friday as a mark of respect for Singla, who was the Cabinet Minister in the previous tenure of Captain Amarinder Singh as Chief Minister, who described his passing away as a personal loss.
