CM: Power may cost less, conditions apply

Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has said if people help in bringing down line losses, the government may reduce power tariff in near future.

During a “Seedhi Baat” programme at Kaul village in the district on Friday, the CM urged the people not to indulge in power theft as it was adversely affecting the revenue of the power boards and ultimately, the honest consumer was to suffer.

Announcing a new scheme for the benefit of power consumers, the CM said that surcharge and interest of the defaulters would be waived if they apply for power connection and consumers would be given option to clear their outstanding bills in instalments so that such consumers could shed the habit of stealing power.

He announced Rs 5 crore for development works in Kaul and Pabnawa villages.
