In Uttar Pradesh, six policemen were suspended over the death of the father of a girl who alleged rape by an MLA.

The four accused, named in the FIR registered on 4 April, 2018 for beating up the deceased had also been arrested.

CM Yogi Adityanath has condemned the custodial death and assured strict action and thorough probe into the matter.

Earlier, the accused MLA Kuldeep Senger met the CM to clarify his stand. He denied allegations against him and said that he is open to any kind of investigation.
