Conspiracy to control the financial capital of country: BJP
Slamming the Shiv Sena, the NCP and the Congress, the BJP on Saturday said their attempt to form the government in Maharashtra without a mandate was in fact a “conspiracy” to control the financial capital of the country, Mumbai, “through the back door”.
A proper majority will be proved on the floor of the House, Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said while addressing media persons here.
Prasad said Maharashtra’s mandate was in favour of the BJP and Shiv Sena and sitting Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. “In 2019, the BJP contested 150 seats with 70 per cent success rate. The success of Shiv Sena was the prospect of Fadnavis becoming the Chief Minister again,” he said.
“They are saying today that democracy has been murdered, how is that? If the Sena breaks its alliance of 30 years, it is not. It was a conspiracy to control financial capital of country through backdoor,” Prasad said also expressing angst over the “words” used by Sena leaders against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP chief Amit Shah
