Two Trinamool Congress MPs and an MLA who were detained at Silchar airport in Assam on Thursday have filed two FIRs in Kolkata against Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal.

TMC Lok Sabha members Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar and Mamata Thakur accused him of physically preventing them from leaving the airport. A similar FIR was filed by TMC MLA Mohua Maitra.

An eight-member team had gone to Assam to take stock of the situation in the wake of publication of the National Register of Citizens. They were made to spend the night at the airport and sent back.
