DC ANNOUNCES TO ORGANIZE SPECIAL TRIPS FOR SCHOOL STUDENTS MUSEUM OF PUNJAB STATE WAR HEROES MEMORIAL AND JANG-E-AZADI MEMORIAL AT KARTARPUR

In order to inculcate the spirit of nationalism and patriotism amongst the school students, the Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma today said that the district administration would make all out efforts for organizing special trips of school students in Museum of Punjab State War Heroes Memorial and Jang-e-Azadi Memorial at Kartarpur.

Interacting with the media persons during his visit to the museum today, the Deputy Commissioner said that the state of the art memorial was one of its kind, with lot of information showcasing the valiant deeds of our brave hearts. He said that the students must be apprised of this glorious legacy so that they could take inspiration from it. Mr. Sharma said that Punjab has earned the epitaph of sword Arm of the country by virtue of the bravery exhibited by Punjabi Generals and Soldiers, since ages.

Impressed by the museum, the Deputy Commissioner said that it was a beacon to inspire the youngsters for serving the nation thereby displaying the ethos of Punjabi’s rare valor and patriotism. He categorically said that this magnificent memorial inaugurated in 1981 was a befitting tribute to commemorate the remarkable contribution made by the Punjabi soldiers and officers to defend the sovereignty of the country.

Likewise, the Deputy Commissioner said that the iconic Jang-E-Azadi memorial at Kartarpur was a lighthouse for inculcating the nationalistic spirit and fervor amongst our youngsters. He said that this memorial has gone a long way in making the younger generations abreast of their rich heritage of valour, patriotism and self sacrifice that was the driving force behind our national freedom struggle. Mr. Sharma said that this memorial aptly showcases each and every facet of our national freedom struggle in an appropriate manner.

The Deputy Commissioner said that the district administration would soon issue an advisory to the schools for arranging special trips for the students to these memorials so that they could be apprised of their rich heritage. He said that it was the need of hour to ensure that our children serve the country with utmost dedication and sincerity. Deputy Commissioner accompanied by District Defense Services Welfare Officer Major Yashpal Singh.
