Deputy Chief Minister briefed on traffic problems in city

Members of the Jambu Lochan Civil Society, Jammu, today met Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh and handed over a memorandum of demands regarding the problems of their area.

They demanded action on unauthorised rehris leading to traffic jams along the Talab Tillo main road and the Akhnoor road besides remodelling of the existing canal from Pacca Gharat to Talab Tillo Chowk.

The memorandum also took up the issue of unauthorised tractor trailers carrying building material despite a ban by the High Court.

The society also demanded plying of smart buses in place of mini buses in Jammu city and shifting of electric poles from Kamla Palace to Poonch House.

The members also sought deployment of CRPF personnel to regulate the traffic system in the city on a trial basis. The members expressed gratitude to the Deputy CM for patiently listening to the problems of area and promising to act upon them.
