Dera Chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh’s Hearing In Murder Cases: Security Tightened In Panchkula

The cases, identified with the murder of Sirsa-based writer Ram Chander Chhatrapati and previous Dera director Ranjit Singh, purportedly by functionaries and adherents of the faction will be held in the court of special CBI judge Jagdeep Singh.

Punjab News 24, PANCHKULA: Security has been fixed in Panchkula town in Haryana in front of a critical hearing in two separate murder bodies of evidence against Dera Sacha Sauda organization boss Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh and others here on Saturday.

The cases, identified with the murder of Sirsa-based columnist Ram Chander Chhatrapati and previous Dera chief Ranjit Singh, purportedly by functionaries and devotees of the faction will be held in the court of unique CBI judge Jagdeep Singh.

A similar court had, on August 25, sentenced Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh on two tallies of assault of female pupils.

Haryana Director General of Police BS Sandhu said on Friday that sufficient para military and Haryana Police work force had been positioned around the court complex in Sector 1 here and different ranges in Panchkula town to keep up peace.

There are no reports of the Dera adherents amassing in Panchkula in front of Saturday’s listening ability, dissimilar to the assault case hearing where more than one lakh devotees had joined in the town.

Police authorities here said that Dera boss Ram Rahim won’t be physically delivered in the CBI exceptional court on Saturday. The hearing will occur through video conferencing as Ram Rahim is stopped in the District Jail in Sunaria close Rohtak.

Mr Chhatrapati and Mr Ranjit Singh were killed in 2002. The group boss is a denounced in both murder cases as these were completed purportedly at his command.

Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh was condemned to 20 years of thorough detainment by the CBI court on August 28.
