Divyansh Singh Panwar wins silver at Beijing World Cup
India’s Divyansh Singh Panwar wins a silver in the 10m air rifle event in the final at the Beijing World Cup on Friday.The shooter from Jaipur shot a score of 249 in the final. Panwar’s silver assures India of a berth in the 10m air rifle event at the Tokyo Olympics.
This is India’s 4th Olympic quota place for the Tokyo games. China’s Hui Zicheng won gold with a score of 249.4 while Russia’s Grigorii Shamakov bagged bronze with a score of 227.5. This is Panwar’s second medal at this World Cup.
He had previously won gold in the 10m air rifle mixed team event with Anjum Moudgil earlier on Thursday. This is India’s third medal at this World Cup.
Manu Bhaker and Saurabh Chaudhary had also won gold in the 10m air pistol mixed team event on Wednesday. Panwar finished third in the qualification round with a score of 629.2 to qualify for the final. Ravi Kumar and Deepak Kumar finished 44th and 57th in the qualification round.
