Punjab Education Minister Om Prakash Soni today expressed profound grief over the demise of eminent historian Dr Kirpal Singh.In a condolence message, the Minister said that noted Sikh Scholar and Historian Dr. Kirpal Singh had been rendering excellent Services as the Head of expert committee formed to oversee the syllabus and content of history books prescribed by Punjab School Education Board for Secondary and Senior Secondary classes.

The Minister said that the immense contribution of renowned academician Dr. Kirpal Singh for compilation and dissemination of modern and Medieval history of India would be ever remembered by one and all.Sharing his heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved family, relatives and friends, the Minister prayed to the Almighty to give courage to them to bear this irreparable loss and grant eternal peace to the departed soul.
