Electioneering picks up in five poll bound states, BJP Chief Amit Shah is in Chhattisgarh for campaigning, Rajyavardhan Rathore interacts with party workers in Amer, Rajasthan while Congress releases first list of 155 candidates for Madhya Pradesh.
In Chhattisgarh, scrutiny of nominations for the second phase of assembly elections was held on Saturday. More than 2,600 nominations were filed by the candidates in 72 assembly segments, which are going for poll in second phase.
More than 1.53 crore voters, including 76 lakh women, are eligible to exercise their franchise in second phase to be held on November 20.
The Congress has released its first list of candidates, 155 in total, for the Madhya Pradesh assembly polls. The nominees included Ajay Singh, the leader of opposition in the state, and former Union minister Suresh Pachouri.
The party has also fielded former chief minister Digvijay Singh’s son Jaivardhan Singh from Raghogarh and brother Lashman Singh from Chachora seats.
Ajay Singh, son of former chief minister late Arjun Singh, will fight from Churhat while 8 times MLA Arif Akil will contest from Bhopal North. Polls for the 230-member assembly will be held on November 28. Counting of votes will be taken up on December 11.
Union Minister for Sports, Information and Broadcasting and senior BJP leader Rajyavardhan Rathore offered prayers at Sheela Mata Mandir at Amer in Rajasthan.
He also interacted with party workers there under Booth Sampark Abhiyan.
The minister highlighted some of the schemes launched by the centre for the welfare of common man.
He appealed to the people to vote for BJP in upcoming assembly polls.
