The House of Representatives’ speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara and Chairman of the National Assembly Ganesh Prasad Timilsina read out President’s letter announcing prorogation of both the houses.

The maiden session of new Parliament had started on March 5. During the session 11 meetings of House of Representatives, the lower house, and 10 meetings of National Assembly, the upper house, were held.

Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli won the vote of confidence in the House of Representatives on March 11 and President Bidya Devi Bhandari addressed joint meeting of both the houses on March 29 during the historic session.
