In a major success for the security forces, five terrorists were killed in an encounter which broke out Badigam area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district this morning.

“Encounter concluded at Badigam Zainpora Shopian, 5 bodies of terrorists recovered. Well done boys – Army/ CRPF/J&K Police,” DGP S P Vaid tweeted.

Acting on specific information about the presence of terrorists in Badigam village in Zainapora area of the south Kashmir district, security forces launched a cordon and search operation there this morning.

The search operation turned into an encounter after the hiding terrists fired upon the forces, which was retaliated.
