Fodder scam: Special Court to pronounce quantum of sentence today
A special Central Bureau of Investigation court had on 23 December convicted the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief and 15 others in a case relating to the multi-million-rupee fodder scam.
According to lawyers, Lalu Prasad can be awarded three to seven years’ punishment. If he gets three years’ punishment, he may get bail soon after sentencing. Lalu Prasad is at present in Birsa Munda Central Jail in Ranchi.
The trial in the case was completed on 13 December in the special CBI court and 10 days later, he was convicted on 23 December.
