The Punjab Governor and Administrator, UT, Chandigarh, Shri V.P. Singh Badnore strongly condemned the grenade attack on the religious congregation of the Nirankaris at the ‘Nirankari Bhawan’ in Amritsar. He termed the act as a dastardly and cowardly attack on the peaceful congregation.

Taking stock of the situation, the Governor said that the Punjab police is fully equipped and strong enough to tackle any such incident, as in past also; the Punjab police was able to nab the culprits involved in the targeted killings of the RSS State Vice President Brig. Jagdish Gagneja and RSS leader Ravinder Gosain.

Recalling the dark days of the Militancy in the 1980s and 90s, the Governor said that the worst kind of militancy was fought back successfully by the brave Punjab Police force. Sh. Badnore also said that the forces inimical to Punjab would not be allowed to destabilize the hard earned peace and security of Punjab. Such attempts will fail miserably and miscreants apprehended soon.

Meanwhile, the Governor, who is also the Administrator of UT, Chandigarh has asked the Chandigarh Police to be on high alert and ensure complete security to the people at the religious places especially the Nirankari Missions in and around Chandigarh.
