Governor briefed on expansion projects of agriculture varsity

Nazeer Ahmed, Vice Chancellor, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir, Kashmir (SKUAST-K), and other legislators met Governor Satya Pal Malik here on Monday.
The VC apprised the Governor, also the Chancellor of the university, of the overall growth witnessed by SKUAST in recent years, besides various other expansion projects underway. Matters relating to the university lands lying with security forces, need for additional lands to establish apple nursery and Krishi Vigyan Kendras, allocation of financial resources, reorganisation of available staff strength, filling up of vacant posts of scientific employees and implementation of academic reforms were also discussed.
Meanwhile, former minister and Handwara MLA Sajad Gani Lone discussed with the Governor the successful conduct of the urban local bodies elections.
Karnah MLA Raja Manzoor Ahmad Khan also met the Governor and apprised him of the various ongoing projects relating to health, education, power, sports and infrastructure of his constituency that require immediate attention.
