Devinder Kumar Manyal, Minister for Health and Medical Education, on Friday briefed Governor NN Vohra about the various ongoing initiatives of the department for providing healthcare facilities to people. He also informed the Governor about certain other important issues relating to the functioning of departments under his charge.

The Governor and the minister discussed arrangements which were being made for the forthcoming Amarnath yatra. They discussed matters relating to the location of medical camps en route the yatra tracks, positioning of doctors and paramedical staff, medical examination and issuance of health certificates to intending pilgrims, and stocking of medicines and essential equipment in emergency care units along the tracks and in medical camps, particularly oxygen concentrators.
