Governor, CM discuss security

Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti met Governor NN Vohra at Raj Bhawan here today.
During the course of their extensive discussions, the Chief Minister apprised the Governor of various important developmental, security, law and order and management-related issues and about certain matters which had come to her notice during her recent visits to the districts in the Jammu and Kashmir divisions.
The Governor discussed with the Chief Minister issues relating to the now very long-pending elections to urban local bodies and the recently deferred elections to panchayats.
The Governor reiterated his concern about the need for enforcing visible transparency and accountability in the functioning of the entire administrative apparatus.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar, MLA, Ganderbal, called on Governor NN Vohra at Raj Bhawan here today.
Jabbar apprised the Governor of issues relating to certain ongoing developmental schemes in his constituency and made suggestions for the timely improvements in the roads leading to the yatra, particularly the Zakura-Baltal axis. Among other matters, he brought to the Governor’s notice that work on the Ganderbal Hydroelectric Project -II had still not started.
The Governor appreciated Jabbar’s concerns and urged him to continue his positive endeavours for promoting a peaceful environment which would enhance people’s welfare and enable rapid development.
