GOVERNOR EXHORTS MEDICAL FRATERNITY TO UNDERTAKE EXTENSIVE RESEARCH ON SLEEP DISORDERS

SAYS SLEEP DISORDERS COULD BE VERY FATAL FOR HUMAN HEALTH

Asserting that sleep disorders could be very fatal for the human health, the Punjab Governor Mr. VP Singh Badnore today called upon the medical fraternity to undertake extensive research on this diverse
field to facilitate the humanity.

Addressing the gathering during third Inter National Conference of Sleep Disorders here today, the Governor said that from the upper surface this appears to be a very normal subject but in reality it concerns every human being. He said that the sleep disorder, if not treated timely, could be very harmful for the human health. Mr. Badnore said that efforts must be made to make a common person aware
of the fact, in layman’s language, that how much sleep was required to him for a sound health.

The Governor said that it was great pleasure for him to address all the distinguished luminaries participating in this convention on sleep disorders taking place on the soil of Punjab and then at Jalandhar
making it quite convenient not only for the maximum number of private but also for public medical practitioners of the state to learn professionally and to deliver improved services to the Punjabi Public
as a whole. He expressed hope that this mega events would not only provide evidence based multi-disciplinary approach but education also in order to promote the science and clinical practice of sleep
medicine, live demonstrations by the renowned experts and faculty members through their expertise and ingeniousness of the field. Mr. Badnore also advised the participants that there was a lot for them to
learn because of participation of key thought in this conference adding that this would help them to enhance their expertise in this field.

In his address Lok Sabha MP Chaudhary Santokh Singh said that the main organizer of the event Dr. HJ Singh has a proven track record of organizing such important events to make the people aware of such fatal diseases. He said that this conference was the need of the hour because this important topic has been hitherto remain untouched. The MP held the change in lifestyle and increasing stress as the basic cause behind such troubles.
