The government has collected 86,703 crore rupees under Goods and Services Tax (GST) in the last month. The Finance Ministry said one crore taxpayers

have been registered under GST so far.

Of them, over 17 lakh are Composition Dealers, which are required to file returns every quarter. It further added, over 56 lakh GSTR 3B returns have been filed

for the month of December till Thursday.

The Ministry said a total of over 8 lakh returns were filed by Composition Dealers for the July-September, quarter, paying a total of around 336 crore rupees as

GST.

It also said, 9.25 lakh returns were filed by Composition Dealers, paying a sum of over 421 crore rupees during October- December quarter.
