Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti held an hour-long meeting with Governor NN Vohra this evening and discussed with him various important matters relating to the affairs of the state.

The Governor and the Chief Minister discussed, among other matters, the internal security situation in the Valley, functioning of various departments, particularly the Power Development Department, Social Welfare Department, Information Department and the Sports and Youth Affairs Department, and the extent to which results had been achieved to secure the goals.

The Governor suggested the Chief Minister the enforcement of a stringent approach with regard to the departments not performing adequately.

Vohra also discussed with Mehbooba the significant advantage of there being no delay in commencing the process of conducting the elections to the panchayats and urban local bodies.
