Governor Satya Pal Malik undertook a detailed review of security-related issues during a meeting of senior officials of the civil, police, Army, state and Central intelligence agencies at Raj Bhawan on Friday.

The meeting was attended by Vijay Kumar, Adviser to Governor, Lt Gen Ranbir Singh, Northern Command chief, BVR Subrahmanyam, Chief Secretary, Dilbagh Singh, Director General of Police, Lt Gen Paramjit Singh, GOC, 16 Corps, and officers of the state and Central intelligence agencies.

The Governor obtained sector-wise assessment of the prevailing security situation and the arising challenges. He emphasised the crucial importance of maintaining a close watch on the ground situation and appreciated the sustained real time coordination and synergy between the security forces and the civil administration. The meeting discussed security arrangements for the smooth conduct of the forthcoming elections to panchayats and the need of a safe environment for the elections.
