HJP to contest Assembly poll on all seats: Venod Sharma
Chandigarh
Haryana Janchetna Party will field its candidates across the state in the 2019 Assembly poll, though the party has no plans to contest the upcoming parliamentary elections.
Venod Sharma, president of the HJP, said this while addressing a public meeting at Ellenabad in Sirsa district on Sunday. Sharma said the BJP had played a cruel joke with the youth by promising jobs during the 2014 Assembly poll but had failed to keep its promise. The manner in which lakhs of qualified youth had applied for jobs of peons and gardeners in the state showed that unemployment was rampant in the state.
Emphasising the need to bring transparency in employment, Sharma said interviews should be done away with from all jobs, including class 1 and 2 jobs, so that only meritorious youth are recruited.
He claimed that there was strong resentment among people against the BJP Government in Haryana but they were yet to make up their mind which party to vote for in the poll. Sharma said his party would contest from all 90 seats in Haryana but he did not rule out the possibilities of an alliance.
Meanwhile, launching a veiled attack on Leader of Opposition Abhay Singh Chautala, who represents Ellenabad Assembly segment, Sharma said though the area was prominent politically, it was backward as the previous governments did not focus on equal development of all areas.
