Home Minister meets Guv, reviews security

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, who arrived on a two-day visit to J&K, held a security review meeting at Hari Niwas with senior police and security forces officers on Wednesday evening. This is Rajnath’s first visit to the state after the imposition of the Governor rule.

He was accompanied by National Security Adviser Ajit Doval, Union Home Secretary Rajiv Gauba, Joint Secretary Gyanesh Kumar and other officers of the Union Home Ministry.

Before the meeting, Rajnath held discussions with Governor NN Vohra at Raj Bhawan. They discussed issues relating to security management, implementation of development programmes and positive engagement of the youth. Vohra briefed Rajnath on the ongoing Amarnath yatra.
