Hooda: CID officer snooping on me
Kurukshetra
A field officer of the CID has been accused of snooping on former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda. On Tuesday evening, ASI Bijender Kumar was allegedly spotted recording Hooda’s movements on his mobile phone in Jind.
The incident took place when Hooda was at the residence of Balram Katwal, his relative and Congress leader in Jind district. Hooda’s media coordinator Chandvir Hooda said on Wednesday that the former Chief Minister objected to a non-journalist making his video.
Chandvir said as the person identified himself as a CID officer, Hooda called up the DC and the SP of Jind to register his protest over an intelligence official recording conversation. Jind SP Arun Singh confirmed that no complaint in writing was received by the district police about the alleged snooping incident.
On Tuesday, Hooda was in Jind to condole the death of INLD leader and legislator Hari Chand Midha. Later, he visited various places in the town. Sources said no press conference was in progress when the CID officer was caught at Katwal’s residence.
There was no official confirmation of objectionable data being found in the mobile phone memory of the CID officer. Police sources said he was shifted to the state headquarters in Panchkula with immediate effect.
