The “mother-of-all recruitments” would start from November 1 when the UP Police begin the process to recruit 56,808 personnel.

Addressing a joint press conference, Principal Secretary (Home) Arvind Kumar and DGP OP Singh said online applications for the posts would begin from November 1. The written examinations would be held on January 4 and 5.

The results would be declared by third week of June in 2019. The selection would be made on the basis of written examinations and no interviews would be conducted. While there are vacancies for 51,216 constable, another 3,668 jail wardens and 1,824 firemen would also be appointed.

For the civil police, around 20 per cent of seats would be reserved for women said Principal Secretary Home.
The examinations would be conducted by outside agencies and magistrates and the STF would monitor the whole process to ensure that there are no irregularities.

Dwelling on the need for such massive recruitments, the DGP said there was a 42 per cent shortfall of police personnel in UP, which came to around 97,000 personnel.
