India began the second session on a high note by troubling both Hashim Amla and AB de Villiers. Both players found it difficult to play the Indian pacers and the latter was dismissed after playing a scratchy innings. Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled De Villiers and gave India fourth wicket. Skipper Faf du Plessis and Quinton de Kock too got out in quick succession, with Jasprit Bumrah scalping both the wickets. Hashim Amla went on to score his fifty to keep the fighting spirit alive for South Africa. South Africa reached 143/6 at Tea on Day 2, trailing India by 44 runs. In the first session, India picked up the wickets of Dean Elgar and Kagiso Rabada in the first session of day two of the third Test against South Africa in Johannesburg. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Ishant Sharma bowled a tight line outside the off-stump and kept beating the outside edge of the batsmen’s bat. The former was rewarded with the wicket of Elgar when he edged one behind. But India were troubled by Hashim Amla and Kagiso Rabada when both shared a 63-run stand for the third wicket. Nightwatchman Rabada scored 30 runs before being dismissed. South Africa were 81 for 3 at Lunch and only 106 runs behind India’s first innings total of 187.
