Jammu GMCH to host 3-day meet on advances in surgery

Some of the renowned surgeons of the country will be attending a conference to discuss the surgico-ethical issues in the 21st century, in Jammu from October 19 to 21.

About 400 delegates will take part in the three-day conference being hosted by Government Medical College and Hospital to discuss the latest advancements in the conduct of surgery, a complex process saving the lives of thousands of people every year.

Giving information, J&K Association of Surgeons of India secretary Dr Sanjay Bhasin said a live operative workshop would be held during the conference, wherein advanced laparoscopic surgery would be performed by specialist doctors. “Live surgeries will be relayed from the main operation theatre to the auditorium with the direct interaction of delegates with operating facility. It will be a learning experience for the junior doctors,” Dr Bhasin added.
