Kaavya Lehar, a recently established literary body working for promoting Hindi and Urdu poetry and providing platform to young writers to excel in their creativity, on Sunday organised a composite Mushaira at Swami Vivekananda Meditation Pyramid, Model Town Extension, here. The event was presided over by Anil Bharati, President of Swami Vivekananda Trust, Ludhiana and Chairman of Kaavya Lehar, while proceedings were conducted by Dr Ashok Singla and Danish Sachdeva. Dr R.L.Behl, Principal Sri Aurobindo College of Commerce and Management , Ludhiana was the Chief Guest.

The prominent poets who recited their poetry in Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu included Mukesh Alam, Dharmindera Shahid, D.K.Sachdeva, Dr Jas Kohli, Dr Jagtar Dhiman, Poonam Sapra, Jaswinder Kaur, Veena Sood, Dr Devinder Dilroop, Md. Saleem, Khushveen, Sheikh Shahrukh Raja, Aakarshan Sharma, Sandeep Dutt, Kumar Shantnu, Aashu Garg, Preet Baweja, who delivered verse after verse of their best poems. A number of amateur poets also participated. All forms of poetry including Ghazals, Haasya Kavita, Patriotic Nazams, Nagme, Indo-Pak fraternity, Inter-Personal Relationships were the highlights of the Mushaira.

The Chief Guest, Dr R.L.Behl, said that poets were valued assets of the society as they contributed to promotion of their language and literature and raised the vital concerns that our society was facing. He appreciated Kaavya Lehar for organizing the composite mushaira.

Speaking on the occasion, Anil Dhir said that Ludhiana had a rich history of poetry and literature of which Mushaira is an important part. He lauded the initiative of Kaavya Lehar adding that such cultural events must be encouraged.

Earlier, the Kaavya Lehar President Jaspreet Kaur ‘Falak’ welcomed the galaxy of poets gathered on the occasion and highlighted the activities of the organization. She elaborated that Kaavya Lehar endeavours to promote Urdu and Hindi poetry, provides platform to young writers, inculcates national spirit among youth and comes forward to help the needy. Kaavya Lehar is now a well-established organization where prominent poets and litterateurs are linking with its programmes, she said. She also recited her new poem on Books in the Shelf.

The Senior Vice President, Ashok Dhir said that the Kaavya Lehar provides opportunities to the members for creative expression. He recited his new poem on Colors of Holi. He said that Mushaira is an important part of our culture, and the initiative to organize such cultural events must be encouraged.
