Hundreds of students of Government Degree College, Bani, on Wednesday held a protest against an assistant professor of the college for allegedly disrespecting the national anthem during a function held here on September 28.

The protesting students took out a protest march and shouted slogans against the erring professor. The protesters were demanding the registration of an FIR against the professor and his immediate sacking.

“The police have registered a case against the erring assistant professor of Government Degree College, Bani. Moreover, the principal has also written to the higher authorities against the professor for creating indiscipline in the college,” said Bani Sub-Divisional Magistrate Ajeet Singh.
After the registration of the FIR and a letter written by the principal to the higher authorities for sacking the professor, the students called off their protest and resumed classes.
