Kishtwar BJP leader, kin shot

Senior BJP leader Anil Parihar and his brother Ajit Parihar were shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Kishtwar town on Thursday evening. In the forefront when militancy was on its peak in the early 1990s, Anil Parihar was on the hit list of militants.
Jammu Inspector General of Police SD Singh said: “We are probing all angles, including the militancy angle.” Members of the minority community came on to the streets at Bhaderwah to protest the murders. As tension escalated, the town was placed under curfew.
Sources said Anil Parihar and his brother were returning home from their stationery shop when they were attacked in a dark, narrow lane (Tappal Gali) near the Kishtwar veterinary hospital at 9.10 pm.
