KL Rahul, Karn Sharma added to Board President XI’s side for New Zealand warm-ups
KL Rahul, who has been dropped for the three-match ODI series against New Zealand, was drafted as an additional member in the Board President’s XI side which will take on the visitors in two warm-up games.
It will be an opportunity for Rahul to get back into the limited overs side as he has not been in great form and also did not get too many opportunities.
In addition to the Karnataka batsman, leg-spinner Karn Sharma, who has been in great form for India A against the Black caps A side, was called as a replacement for injured Rajasthan youngster Rahul Chahar.
Karn was the star player in the series against New Zealand A, picking up nine wickets in four games as India A clinched the series 3-0.
The team will be lead by Mumbai batsman Shreyas Iyer, who also chipped in with some useful performances in the recently concluded series. Iyer smashed 127 runs at an average of 63.5 with a highest score of 90.
New Zealand will play two warm-up games against Board President’s XI on Ocotber 17 and October 19.
