Lankan PM on 5-day India visit from Feb 7
Sri Lankan Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa will visit India from February 7 to 11. He will hold talks with the top leadership here to strengthen bilateral ties.
After Mahinda Rajapaksa’s official engagement in Delhi, Rajapaksa will travel to Varanasi, Sarnath, Bodh Gaya and Tirupati, said External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Ravish Kumar here today.
The visit is part of succession of high-level exchanges which reflects the sense of urgency in both countries to give a fillip to their ties. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar had landed in Colombo barely three days after the swearing-in ceremony of Gotabaya Rajapaksa, the new Sri Lankan President and the younger brother of Mahinda Rajapaksa.
