MANJINDER SINGH SIRSA STRONLY OPPOSES PROPOSAL TO PUT UP PORTRAIT OF TIPU SULTAN IN DELHI ASSEMBLY PREMISES
New Delhi, January 28 : The Delhi MLA Mr Manjinder Singh Sirsa has strongly opposed decision of installing a portrait of Tipu Sultan in premises of Delhi Assembly by AAP government and he said that Tipu Sultan was neither patriot nor secula but instead was tyrant who forcefully converted 4 lacs people into Islam.
Interacting with media persons here today, Mr. Sirsa disclosed that Tipu sultan’s Father Hyder Ali was commander of Hindu Raja of Mysore. After the death of Mysore Raja, Hyder Ali backstabbed Raja family by declaring himself as King of the state. Later, his son -Tipu Sultan declared his kingdom as Islamic state and implemented Shriya rule & calendar.
He further said that Tipu Sultan had himself admitted that he had got forcefully converted 4 lacs hindus and Christians as muslims and also got changed names of historical cities & villages’ name with Muslim ones like Mangalore or Mangalapuri was changed to Jalalabad, Mysore to Nazarabad, Bepur to Sultanpatanam, Cannanore to Kusanabad, Gooty to Faiz-Hissar, Dharwar to Quarshed-Sawad, Dindigul to Khaliqabad, Ratnagiri to Mustafabad, Kozhikode to Islamabad, and Dindigul to Khaliqabad.
Mr. Sirsa also disclosed that Tipu himself had written to Burduz Zamaun Khan on 19 January 1790 “Don’t you know I have achieved a great victory recently in Malabar and over four lakh Hindus were converted to Islam?”, and to Syed Abdul Dulai on 18 January 1790: “With the grace of Prophet Muhammad and Allah, almost all Hindus in Calicut are now converted to Islam. Only a few are still not converted on the borders of Cochin State. I am determined to convert them also very soon. I consider this as Jehad to achieve that object.”
Further, Sirsa said that the world-famous Protuguese traveller, Fr. Barthoelomeo in his book said Tipu Sultan was barbarian. Sultan tied the naked Christians and Hindus to the legs of elephants and made the elephants to move around till the bodies of the helpless victims were torn to pieces. Here is the account of another Frenchman Francois Fidele Ripaud de Montaudever. This French man fought on the side of Tipu , he in fact gave Tipu a shipload of French Warriors. In his diary entry of January 14, 1799, he writes: “I’m disturbed by Tipu Sultan’s treatment of these most gentle souls, the Hindus. During the siege of Mangalore, Tipu’s soldiers daily exposed the heads of many innocent Brahmins within sight from the fort for the Zamorin and his Hindu followers to see”. Mir Hussein Kirmani, Tipu’s courtier and biographer described the man’s unusual love of death and devastation. He marched into Coorg in 1788 by burning down villages and entire towns. Similar was the case in Malabar. An army of 30,000 would march towards these towns destroying everything and everyone in their way.
Famous Hindu Temples Thalipparampu and Thrichambaram of Chirackal Taluqa, Ponmeri Temple of Badakara, and Thiruvangatu of Tellicherry were smashed by Tipu Sultan.
Stressing that our we are descendants of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur, Jassa Singh Ahluwalia, Baba Baghel Singh, Jassa Singh Ramgarhia, Prithviraj Chauhan, Pohras and not Aurangzab, Babur, Mohammad Gauri and Tipu Sultan Mr Sirsa said that AAP leaders may be descendants of cruel Aurangzab, Babur, Mohammad. Gauri, Tipu Sultan and others.
The Delhi MLA urged Delhi Speaker to immediately order to removal of Tipu Sultan’s portrait from the gallery of Delhi Vidhan Sabha ortherwise he will be forced to remove it. He said that in first instance he is politely requesting in Mahatma Gandhi’s way but if his appeal is gone unheeded then he will be forced to use Shaheed Bhagat Singh’s way to protect our heritage.
He said that it was most illogical decision of the AAP government to get a portrait of such a communal person put up in the assembly. He expressed surprise that Arvind kejriwal went to see the family of Akhlaq for muslim votes but missed to see poor Chandan Gupta. He also urged the CM to stop playing with the sentiments of the people.
Lashing out at Chief Minister Mr. Arvind Kejriwal for the decision Mr. Sirsa reminded him that we are in a democratic set up where only secularism prevails. He said that this decision is most illogical decision of the AAP which gives a wrong message to the nation. He said that as the AAP government has nothing to show on three year performance front to the people they are unnecessarily trying to create controversies to divert the attention of the people.
The Delhi MLA also suggested to the Chief Minister to put up portraits of great men Jassa Singh Ahluwalia & Prithviraj Chauhan in the gallery of Delhi Vidhan Sabha as they fought foreign invaders for the country and are real heroes of India.
