MS Dhoni makes surprise visit at Army Public School Srinagar, talks about sports and education

Former skipper MS Dhoni made a surprise visit at the Army Public School in Srinagar recently and held an interactive talk with the students, emphasising on the importance of education and sports in the school. The 36-year old who is long retired from Test cricket is making the most of his leisurely time before being called up for the ongoing Sri Lanka tour in the ODI series.

Dhoni, who holds an honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel, visited the school located inside the Chinar Corps headquarters in the Badamibagh Cantonment in a low key and unannounced event yesterday. The wicket-keeper dropped in announced, surprising everyone at the camp.

“Lt Col Mahendra Singh Dhoni interacting with the enthusiastic children of #APS #Srinagar; emphasised the importance of #studies and #sports,” the tweet accompanying the picture reads.

MS Dhoni who retired from Test cricket has taken out time to fulfil a few activities before he is brought on for the ODI series against Sri Lanka which will begin from December 10. The former skipper has been scrutinised recently by former cricketers but the coach and team players have defended the World Cup winning captain stating that they have no right to question the wicket-keeper’s decisions.
