The body of a senior Mumbai doctor who was washed away in Tuesday downpour has been recovered.

The police said the body of Dr Deepak Amarapukar, 58, a senior gastroenterologist with the Bombay Hospital, was recovered from the Worli seashore this morning. The doctor was walking down to his home after his car broke down. Eyewitnesses said Amarapurkar disregarded their advice about the swift current and continued to walk before he fell into an open manhole.
