The Constitutional Council of Nepal has recommended Navin Kumar Ghimire as the new Chief Commissioner of Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority .

A meeting of the Council held in Kathmandu on Wednesday proposed Ghimire’s name for the top post of CIAA.

He has been working as the acting Chief Commissioner of CIAA since February this year after the retirement of Deep Basnyat.

Ghimre joined CIAA as Commissioner in April 2015. He will now appear before the Parliamentary Hearing Committee. According to the constitution of Nepal, parliamentary hearing shall be conducted before the appointment of CIAA chief.
