Nepal President grace Republic Day Celebration at Kathmandu
Republic day celebrations continue in Nepal. President Bidya Devi Bhandari, Former Prime Minister and CPN UML Chairman K P Sharma Oli, Indian Ambassador Manjeev Singh Puri and other dignitaries graced a musical programme held at Kathmandu last evening.
A large number of Indian nationals, people from different walks of life, Indian Embassy officials and their families also attended the function. The programme was organised by the Indian Cultural Center to celebrate 69th Republic Day of India and 70 years of Indo-Nepal diplomatic ties. A musical troupe from India, Rishi Incorporate Band, captivated the audience with its mesmerizing performance.
Earlier in the day, Nepal Bharat Friendship Society hosted a reception to celebrate Republic Day. Former Prime Minister of Nepal Babu Ram Bhattari, senior leaders of various political parties, Indian Ambassador, eminent personalities and members of the society participated in the reception. Renowned Nepali poet Madhav Prasad Ghimire and famous Neurologist Prof. Dr. Jagdish Prasad Agarwal were felicitated on this occasion.
Nepal-India Friendship Association also hosted a reception to mark 69th Republic Day. Indian Ambassador Manjeev Singh Puri, Deputy Chief of Mission Dr. Ajay Kumar and a large number of Indian and Nepalese citizens joined the celebration.
