Nirav Modi arrested in London
Main accused in Rs 13,500 Crore PNB Scam to be produced before a court
In a major boost to India’s diplomatic efforts fugitive Nirav Modi is going to be produced before a Court in London after his arrest.
He has reached the Westminster Magistrates’ Court.
Nirav is the main accused in the Rs 13,500 crore PNB scam case.
His arrest came days after a London court issued an arrest warrant against him in response to a request by the Enforcement Directorate for his extradition in a money laundering case.
The Metropolitan Police in a statement said he was arrested on behalf of the Indian Authorities on 19 March, in Holborn.
Nirav Modi and his uncle, Mehul Choksi, are the main accused in the PNB scam and they both left India before the details of the fraud came to light in January 2018.
