Paddy Procurement Running Smoothly In Moga Mandis-DC Tej

Payment Worth Rs 244.48 Crore Made To Farmers Against The Procured Grains In District

Rupnagar mandis have registered a purchase of 1,71,481 MT out of total 1,71,481 MT arrival of paddy by last evening. Against the procured paddy, an amount of Rs. 244.48 has been paid to the farmers while 1,52,805 MT of the procured paddy lifted as per the 72 hours condition laid down by the state.

Divulging the details, the Deputy Commissioner Rupnagar Smt. Gurneet Tej IAS today said that since the starting of procurement of grains in the district from October 1, a total of 1,71,481 metric ton paddy has arrived in the mandis across the district, out of which 1,71,481 metric ton has been purchased by the various agencies.

District Food Supply Controller, Sh Satvir Singh while providing the agencywise procurement data, added that out of total procured grains till last evening, 55111 MT has been procured by the Pungrain, 38445 MT by the Markfed, 45661 by the Punsup, 13950 MT by the PSWC, 15188 MT by the Punjab Agro and 3126 MT by the Food Corporation of India. He said that procurement agencies have been directed by the deputy commissioner to make ensure lifting regularly to avoid any type of glut in mandis.
