1,96,513 MT Paddy purchased, Rs.290.73 Crore payment made

The procurement of paddy is going on in full swing at all the 23 procurement centers set up in the district.Till yesterday i.e. 31th October 1,96,513 MT of paddy has arrived in the mandis and the same 1,96,513 MT of paddy has been purchased by various Govt. procurement agencies while 1,82,794 MT of the procured paddy lifted as per the 72 hours condition laid down by the state.. The payments worth Rs. 290.73 Crore has been made , said Smt. Gurneet Tej Deputy Commissioner.

District Food Supply Controller, Sh Satveer Singh while providing the agency wise procurement data, added that out of total procured grains till last evening,62063 MT has been procured by the Pungrain, 4564 MT by the Markfed,52266 by the Punsup, 14880 MT by the PSWC, 18413 MT by the Punjab Agro and 3727 MT by the Food Corporation of India and he said that procurement agencies have been directed by the deputy commissioner to make ensure lifting regularly to avoid any type of glut in mandis.
