If there is one film that movie buffs are waiting with bated breath, it is Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati. This period drama has piqued the interest of fans

months before its release, so much so that the looks of Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, and Shahid Kapoor alone have sent audiences into a frenzy

overnight.

And now, an Indian Express Twitter poll suggests that Shahid Kapoor’s bloody and scarred avatar as Maharawal Ratan Singh is the one that has been able to

woo fans more than Deepika and Ranveer. Well, there is no doubt that the gory, sword-bearing and battle-field ready Shahid in Padmavati posters is one to set
a million hearts racing. But that doesn’t mean that Ranveer and Deepika are any less. After all, Shahid won by a mere 2 percent from Ranveer who was at 33
percent and Deepika at just 32 percent.
While Deepika has donned a regal avatar quite a few times previously, there is something special about Rani Padmini. Every minute detail has been taken care
of, from her unibrow to her deep-set eyes and her profound expression.
But Ranveer’s Alauddin Khilji avatar is the one that stands out from the bunch and it looks like he will be the show-stopper in the film as well. One, because
Ranveer has never been seen in a negative role previously, let alone an anti-hero and secondly because Ranveer’s look itself is so menace-exuding that fans are
eagerly waiting for this Khilji story to unfold. A jewelled crown, a crooked scar and long messy tresses, all are adding up to one power-packed character for
Ranveer.
