PAU HOLDS PROGRAMME ON SWACCHTA PAKHWADA

To mark India’s biggest ever cleanliness drive launched by Prime Minister of India, Mr Narendra Modi, the Department of Extension Education, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), organized a programme on “Swacchta Pakhwada.” Dr S.S. Kukal, Dean, College of Agriculture, was the chief guest while Dr J.S. Bhalla, Head, Department of Extension Education, presided over the function. The faculty, staff and students of the department participated in this programme with full enthusiasm.
In his address, Dr Kukal motivated the students to make efforts for keeping the surroundings neat and clean. He also advised them to avoid using disposables as they were non-biodegradable. He urged them to avoid using two wheelers to reduce the extent of pollution in the university. Dr Kukal appreciated the efforts of the department in maintaining cleanliness in the rooms. He announced the first and the second prize for best rooms and rewarded some of the staff members for their excellent work in this regard. While proposing the vote of thanks, Dr Bhalla exhorted the students and the faculty to contribute towards improving the levels of cleanliness in the country.
