PAU KISAN CLUB MEMBERS ATTEND TRAINING CAMP

The monthly training camp of PAU Kisan Club was held at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) today in which about 370 farmers and 60 rural women participated. The camp was held under the guidance of Dr Ashok Kumar, Director of Extension Education.

Addressing the farmers, Dr T.S. Riar, Coordinator of the club, said that farm expenses can be cut by adopting cooperative farming.

Dr RIS Gill, Head, Department of Forestry and Natural Resources, highlighted the importance of agro-forestry.

Dr T.P. Singh, Seed Specialist and Dr Dilbagh Singh, Vegetable Science expert, delivered talks on seed production and care of winter vegetables, respectively.
A progressive farmer, Suresh Kumar shared his experiences of agriculture.

Dr Rupinder Kaur, Coordinator of women’s wing of the club, said that demonstration on the preparation of murabba of different flavors was given. Dr Kulvir Kaur, Assistant Professor of Extension Education, imparted practical training to the rural women.

During the camp, an exhibition was put up that highlighted farm literature and technologies, developed by PAU.

Farmers also paid tributes to Dr N.S. Jassal, who served the club for nearly 10 years.
