The Department of Extension Education, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), organized farmer training programmes on “Kitchen Gardening” in villages Abbuwal and Rattowal, under the guidance of Dr Jaswinder Singh Bhalla, Professor and Head, Department of Extension Education.

Dr Pankaj Kumar, Assistant Extension Specialist, highlighted the importance of balanced human diet. He urged the farmers to adopt kitchen gardening to minimize their household expenses.

Addressing the farmers on environment concerns, Dr Dharminder Singh, Assistant Extension Specialist, stressed on them to shun the practice of paddy straw burning and make efforts for the management of paddy straw in their fields.
